Principal’s Message
August 2026
Welcome to the 2026 - 2027 School Year!
As we open the doors for a new school year, I am thrilled to welcome our students, families, faculty, and staff back to school! The start of a new year brings excitement, opportunity, and a renewed commitment to helping every child learn, grow, and succeed.
Last year, our school reached an important milestone by earning a school grade of B. This achievement reflects the hard work, dedication, and perseverance of our students, teachers, staff, and families. We are very proud of this accomplishment and want to continue building on our success as we strive to elevate our school to even greater heights.
The Thacker Avenue Elementary Staff is committed to continuing to raise the bar and helping our students elevate to excellence. Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment with high-quality lessons each day. With a focus on individual student growth, we will work with our Wildcats to increase their learning gains this year and further prepare them to be confident, responsible, and resilient learners who are prepared for future success in Middle School.
With this in mind, our theme for this year is "ROARing to New Heights"!
This theme celebrates the tremendous growth we have experienced in the past two years while maintaining a focus on continuing to rise to new levels of achievement!
As Wildcats we do everything with purpose and ROAR into action. ROAR represents our Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) expectations:
- R - Respect for All
- O - On time and On task
- A - Achieve Your Best
- R - Responsible and Safe Citizen
These expectations guide our actions all around campus daily.
We hope to continue to build campus pride and teach our Wildcats to work together and with their teachers to have a successful year. Likewise, we look forward to partnering with our families to ensure the success of all our students.
A strong partnership between home and school is essential to achieving these goals. Parents and families are our most valuable partners in education. Your involvement, and encouragement make a tremendous difference in the lives of our students. We encourage you to stay connected, participate in school events, and work alongside us as we support every child's educational journey.
We know that communication is key for this partnership so we will reach out every week with updates and important information in our newsletter – The Wildcat Weekly. We will also highlight events and daily activities via ParentSquare and on Facebook and Instagram so please follow us online!
As we begin this exciting school year, we will take time to celebrate our accomplishments, embrace new opportunities, and remain united in our commitment to our Wildcats. We want to thank all our stakeholders for your continued support and partnership. Together, we can ensure that every student thrives and that our school continues moving forward with pride, purpose, and success.
I look forward to an outstanding year filled with learning, growth, and achievement.
Go Wildcats!
Educationally yours,
Mrs. Miglionico, Principal
