Campus Safety

Car Line Safety

During the past few weeks, we have noticed several driving violations on and around campus.

We ask all or community members to please adhere to the following rules to ensure the safety of all our Wildcats and their families:

Hands-free use of phones when driving - drivers should not be using their phones on the road or car line
Student seatbelts fastened - if you need to stop suddenly or even when going over speedbumps, students can fall out of their seats.
Speed limit is 10 mph - do not drive any faster on campus

Drop-off/pick up by car is only through the car line and in front of buildings 3 - 5.

Do not park or wait on Lavon Ave
Do not park on campus and bring students to the walker gate
Do not drop off students on MLK Blvd - this is unsafe for walkers and the students getting out of their vehicles

Student Cell Phones

We are getting reports that students are trying to use their phones to record TikTok videos on campus, particularly in student bathrooms. If a student is found using their phone on campus, it will be confiscated.

Please remind your students that cell phones are not permitted to be used once a student arrives on campus and enters our gates. They should be turned off and stay in their backpacks. They should not be in their pockets.
